Wowee it has been a hot minute! The chaos of travel has really gotten the better of me! Fast forward 4 months in Canada and I am finally settling. I work 3 jobs currently, as a server at St James Irish Pub, as a guest service reservation agent at Alpine Helicopters and as an Occupational Therapist doing contract work with Umbo!
I really am living the dream. I would be lying if I said it was all sunshine and rainbows...there has been times where I have scrubbed toilets for money, living pay check to pay check and finding myself in situations I would not wish upon my worst enemy.
Despite all of this the Bow Valley is one of the most breath taking places I have ever found myself in. Occasionally I find myself getting lost in the moment, really forcing myself to take a step back and realise what the hell is around me! Everywhere you look you are surrounded by mountains, the crips fresh air hits you like a smack in the face every time you walk outside and the trees sprinkled with snow! It really is something so magical! The photos do not do it justice.
I have been fortunate to have met some amazing people, some of which I consider to be lifelong friends! They welcomed my family with open arms when they came to visit and gave them their all! Canmore, whilst it is not sunny Carabooda - it really is HOME for now.
During my downtime I find myself at the gym, cutting laps of the Sunshine Mountain on my snowboard or just a simple walk down near Spring Creek.
I can really appreciate how people get caught up in the Mountain life and never leave, it certainly has crossed my mind. But for now, the memories, the people and the adventures will continue to fill my cup until the next part of the adventure!
